In 2017, after 16 years as a corporate/private equity partner at DLA Piper I decided to branch out on my own and set up Jim Lavery Law (JLL) Limited.
My focus for JLL is on advising management teams, PE houses and companies on transactions, shareholders on critical shareholder and structural issues and directors/boards on corporate governance issues. I also continue to be a consultant at DLA Piper working with my longstanding clients.
Today I’m very proud to say that I am celebrating two years of Jim Lavery Law. The time has absolutely flown by and I have been very honoured to work with a lot of very good people and companies.
When I look back on some of the work that I have done during the past two years I have been very lucky to have been involved in a really broad range of transactions. The highlights show my focus on the core strengths I have developed over more than 25 years and include:
In addition, I have acted for a number of individuals on making equity investments in private equity backed businesses in industries as varied as pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and hi technology cycles.
The value of the private equity work ranges from businesses with an enterprise value of £5m to £700m. The equity investment work ranges from development capital for start-ups to equity investments of up to £100m. The M&A work has tended to focus on a range between £5-15m.
As you can probably tell it’s been a busy couple of years! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it all and have had the privilege of working with some fantastic clients, lawyers and other advisers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their faith in me.
I’m really excited to see what the next few years of Jim Lavery Law Limited holds.
